What I've Been Up to in the Last 2 Months
It's time to fire up my weekly email again, because I have a lot to write about.
After a two-month hiatus, today’s the day—time to fire up my weekly Substack again. It’s good to be back!
I hope you’ve had an awesome couple of months. Here’s what I’ve been up to since my last email:
Went on my first international trip (to the Philippines 🇵🇭)
Lost some weight (I’m tightening my belt by 2 extra notches!)
Rediscovered my love of swimming (first in the ocean, now in the pool)
Said goodbye to a best friend (my four-legged big sister)
Was a groomsman at a wedding for the first time (it was fun!)
Tried out parasailing (was more chill than I expected)
Messed up my big toe (paddle-boarding accident/story for another time)
Those are the highlights, and there’s lots more. It’s been busy!
If I had to pick one idea to sum this all up, I’d say my trip overseas with my lady friend was an even more transformational experience than I bargained for. Massive ripple effects in just about every area of my life.
We’ve only been home for a week, but life’s already looking (and feeling) different.
To keep those vibes going, we’ve made a list of everything we loved doing on our trip that we want to keep doing in “real life,” and we’re following through on it already.
On a deeper level, I can (finally) see what people mean when they say international travel expands your perspective. It’s true, and so far I’m grateful for it. Reflecting on life since our big trip is helping me shake off some crusty old thinking and make way for new growth.
So, that’s what I’ll be unpacking here in the upcoming weeks. Besides that, I’ve also felt the pull to double down on spiritual reading, practice, and writing, which will probably show up here too.
Looking forward to all of it, and excited to share it with you.
Until next week!
–Riley
